Dispersing Agent

Dispersing Agent

Polymeric dispersing agents play a critical role in determining the properties of a wide range of materials. This list includes pharmaceuticals, foodstuffs, dyestuffs, agrochemicals, paints, and many other materials where rheology of suspended solid particles is critical. Many industrial processes depend on dispersants, such as industrial preparations involving slurries or suspensions.

While the nature of the dispersed systems varies, the function of the dispersing agent is always to control the interaction between fine particles, often solids, suspended in a second medium, often water.
Polymeric dispersing agents function by adsorbing at the surface of the suspended particle and thereby provide a protective layer that hinders particle attraction. Boregaard LignoTech’s products  function as dispersing agents in this way. As anionic polyelectrolyte polymers, our products are prone to adsorb onto a wide range of particle substrates.
Consequently, one finds that Borregaard LignoTech’s products can perform as polymeric dispersants in a diverse range of applications.
